Job description :

The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance of a territory comprising several retail stores. He or she ensures that sales, profitability, customer service, and operational excellence objectives are met. He or she acts as a strategic leader for store managers and ensures that company standards are applied consistently.

Main responsibilities:

1. Financial performance:

  • Achieve and exceed sales, margin, and profitability targets.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans.
  • Optimize operating costs (labor, inventory, losses, expenses).
  • Ensure rigorous management of regional budgets.

2. Leadership and team management:

  • Supervise, coach, and develop store managers.
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and succession planning of managers.
  • Evaluate performance and ensure disciplinary management as needed.
  • Mobilize teams around organizational objectives and culture.

3. Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Maintain high standards of merchandising and visual presentation.
  • Conduct regular store visits and produce evaluation reports.

4. Customer experience:

  • Promote a customer-centric culture.
  • Analyze satisfaction indicators and correct discrepancies.
  • Manage complex situations or major complaints.

5. Strategic management:

  • Participate in the development and execution of regional strategies.
  • Identify market growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with head office teams (HR, marketing, operations, finance).

Skills and qualifications :

Education and experience:

  • Degree in administration, management, or related field (an asset).
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in multi-store or regional management.
  • Retail experience required.

  • Strong financial analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and priority management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage change.

Special requirements:

  • Frequent travel (70% to 80% of the time).
  • Flexible schedule based on operational needs.
