Do you have some questions?
What’s the difference between a placement agency and a recruitment agency?
The purpose of a headhunting agency is to find the person who was made for your vacant position. A placement agency, on the other hand, usually takes care of the management and remuneration of the employees it places in your company temporarily (external pay slip).
I’ve never done business with a recruitment agency before. Why should I consider employing your services?
Since your time is always better spent developing your business and managing your daily work, leave the task of recruitment up to us — it’s been our raison d’être and our area of expertise for more than 40 years!
How is St-Amour different from other headhunting agencies?
St-Amour is a trusted and reputable Canadian firm that offers customized recruitment services. Our headhunters are experienced and have extensive knowledge of the field since they’ve worked in the sectors for which they recruit! They’re completely tuned in to your needs and aware of your internal issues.
At St-Amour, we commit to a real collaboration with you! We search for and interview candidates proactively. We meet with them face to face, generally for over an hour. Since we do much more than a simple phone call, we know which candidates have the strengths, experience, and expertise you’re looking for. Without even having to start a new search, we’re able to identify the most talented contenders thanks to our extraordinary pool of candidates.
Which sectors do you specialize in?
Since our recruiters are men and women who’ve worked in the field, they concentrate on the sectors they come from!
Our specialties:
- Consumer Goods
- Pharmaceutical and Medical
- Communications and Media
- Construction and Engineering
- Industrial and Manufacturing
- Business Services
What types of positions do you offer your services for?
We offer our services for the following job categories:
- Sales
- Marketing
- Production and Engineering
- Logistics and Procurement
- Human Resources
- Scientific and Technical Positions
- Executives
How much time will it take to find our future recruit?
We handle urgent recruitment assignments routinely, and we also know that time and resources are necessary to ensure that the best person is found for the position. Allow around 5 to 15 days for the acceptance of the recruitment assignment, the market search, and the list of candidates. The next steps are up to you: how quickly you plan and conduct interviews and make a decision. In order to guarantee a reliable and effective recruitment process, it’s important that the deciding managers (hiring managers) are involved from the beginning. Positions are generally filled within 2 months.
Should we give you exclusivity?
You’re better off when you work with a single recruitment firm. Dealing with more than one provider leads to the duplication of candidates and weakens your employer brand, which is essential for attracting the best talents and preserving a high standard of integrity. We conduct business with great pride and the utmost professionalism and take on the responsibility to represent your interests on the market. We won’t water down your employer brand since we take our role as your company’s recruitment partner seriously. Each candidate we speak with on your behalf will be treated with the same professionalism your own team would show.
What happens if we find a candidate without your assistance?
We recommend sending the candidate you found to our team so that they can go through the same selection process as the talent we’ve selected. Once the candidate has been chosen, our replacement guarantee still applies, which isn’t insignificant.
What are your rates?
We recommend that you get in contact with one of our recruiters; he/she will be pleased to discuss our rates with you.
Do we have to pay an advance?
We treat each request individually to offer you a truly personalized service that is tailored to your needs. Depending on the position to be filled and the estimated number of hours of work, we may ask for an advance, but this isn’t done systematically. Please don’t hesitate to contact us directly. It would be a pleasure to discuss your project!
What are the methods you use to unearth that rare gem?
Recruiters draw on the wide networks in which they’ve worked in the past and in which they’re familiar recruiting. Their strength lies in their solid knowledge of the field!
They also make use of web platforms.
What are your evaluation methods? What pre-employment background checks do you offer?
We conduct an exhaustive interview with each candidate. Behavioural questions, situation questions, and certain case studies may be used to evaluate candidates. We offer pre-employment background checks: court, academic, and credit. All our methods are known and approved by our clients. There’s a reason St-Amour has been creating quality alliances for more than 40 years!
Do you offer psychometric evaluations?
We offer different psychometric tests that are adapted to specific types of positions. Psychometric tests greatly improve companies’ chances of hiring the right person. They’re a real support for preparing for job interviews, facilitating the internal promotion process, and even discovering your leaders of tomorrow.
Can you evaluate the candidates we have on file?
Of course, this is an excellent idea. This would enable a consistent evaluation of candidates on the same criteria.
Why should I do business with a headhunter?
Consider us a resource, since that’s what we are. We work with our current and potential clients to ensure the best match between the vacant position and your strengths, history, and career aspirations.
The recruiter will evaluate your skills and achievements and may also suggest that you modify your CV and help you prepare for your interviews. They may also be able to negotiate the offers you receive.
Our team frequently recruits for exclusive and confidential positions to which you may not otherwise have access. It’s in our interest to help you develop a successful career. We always do our best to act as consultants and advocates, since your success is our success, too.
What are the benefits of working with a headhunting agency?
Recruiters in a headhunting agency aren’t generalists. They specialize in a recruitment area and are experts in certain industries and specific markets. They’re therefore capable of helping you find a position in line with your aspirations in that specific industry.
Networks are very important, and our recruiters are in contact with numerous decision-makers in the industry. In addition, this service is free for you, so it would be a shame not to use it!
How can you help me in my job search?
If you have the qualifications, skills, and experience required by one of our clients (current or future), we’ll contact you and do our best to find you a long-term position.
Am I guaranteed to find a position with St-Amour?
We can’t guarantee that you’ll find a position since the final decision lies with our clients. However, we can assure you that we’ll do everything in our power to help you reach this objective. It’s our raison d'être!
Are there rules to follow when working with a headhunter?
Transparency is essential, and it’s a value that we take to heart. We uphold this value not only with our clients, but also with our candidates.
Is the process for finding a new job long?
For the most part, it’s a question of opportunity (do we have the position for you at this time?). Next, the major part of the recruitment process is in the hands of the hiring company, where everything depends on their speed and reactivity.
