Your role
Reporting to the President, the Director of the Project Office and Operations plays a central role in the delivery and performance of the company’s major contracts. As a true orchestrator, this individual provides leadership to the PMO, oversees several key functions of the organization including manufacturing, purchasing, and installation, and actively participates in strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in managing complex projects, excellent business acumen, and a proven ability to mobilize teams and navigate multidisciplinary environments.
What you will accomplish:
- Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) and supervise all project managers to ensure effective portfolio management.
- Monitor project performance in terms of cost, schedule, quality, and client satisfaction.
- Oversee procurement and purchasing activities, including supplier negotiations and optimization of commercial terms.
- Supervise manufacturing operations, acting primarily as an internal service center supporting project delivery.
- Make strategic decisions to anticipate risks, resolve operational issues, and implement effective mitigation plans.
- Act as a facilitator and decision-maker in situations requiring close collaboration between stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement within teams.
- Actively participate in the executive committee and contribute to the company’s strategic direction.

Skills and qualifications :
- University degree in engineering.
- Significant experience in managing complex, multidisciplinary projects.
- Experience leading project teams in a matrix environment.
- Strong understanding of project portfolio management (PMO) principles.
- Solid skills in negotiation, budget management, and schedule management.
- Proficiency with project planning tools, including Gantt charts.
- Mobilizing leadership with the ability to influence and make decisions in a demanding environment.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Perfect command of English, both spoken and written, to communicate with suppliers and clients, most of whom are located outside the province.
- Good understanding of North American business culture and experience working with multinational clients.
