Job description :
A manufacturing company located on the island of Montreal is looking for a Project Engineer. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for the management and follow-up of various files concerning the environment, building construction and expansion projects, equipment purchasing and installation projects, equipment performance improvement projects and finally process optimization.
More specifically, her duties will include:
- Responsible for communications with the City of Montreal regarding environmental management.
- Ensure progress of work and maintenance of discharge control systems.
- Manage budgets and schedules for the plant's various works and projects.
- Make recommendations to management on equipment selection, equipment modifications and process optimization.
- Provide training and write procedures for the implementation of new processes.
- Maintain budgets and files related to capital projects.
- Issue project opening and purchase order requests.
- Maintain environmental records.
- Study and implement tools work methods or new equipment to increase plant flexibility and production.
- Carry out the technical and financial follow-up of projects, coordinate the implementation, prepare bids and allocate contracts for major projects.
- Design, study and prepare investment requests. The expertise provided must take into account technical aspects and the impact of projects on human resources and finances.
Skills and qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical or industrial) or equivalent
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
- 5 to 7 years' relevant experience in project management and execution, ideally in the agri-food sector
- Bilingualism, both written and spoken (French and English), is an asset
