Job description :
The Multi-Site Operations Director is responsible for executing the region’s business plan and delivering financial results, with a particular focus on comparable store sales and overall revenue growth.
The Director provides overall leadership for regional operations, including day-to-day store activities, merchandising execution, recruitment and training, new store openings, and financial performance management.
This role is accountable for monitoring and improving key performance indicators, including sales, productivity, labor costs, and inventory management. Through strong leadership and consistent coaching, the Director leads a team of District Managers to ensure disciplined, consistent, and high-quality execution of operational standards across the region, in alignment with corporate objectives.
The role will be based in the Greater Quebec City area.
Reporting Structure :
The Multi-Site Operations Director reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Operations.
Key Responsibilities :
More specifically, the individual will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic direction and leadership for all regional operations through District Managers and Store Managers;
- Overseeing workforce management, inventory control, and store profitability across the region, ensuring strict adherence to company standards; actively monitoring performance through ADN reports, dashboards, and GPS audit results;
- Building and leading a high-performing regional leadership team capable of consistently delivering strong business results across all functions;
- Inspiring, engaging, and empowering teams by providing ongoing feedback, targeted coaching, and clear performance expectations at all levels;
- Leading new store openings and renovation projects, ensuring full operational readiness and successful execution;
- Promoting and embodying company values in interactions with employees and customers, while supporting profitability and sustainable growth;
- Bringing strong operational expertise and fostering the adoption of best practices to enhance performance and execution;
- Supporting the recruitment, development, and retention of strong leaders aligned with regional objectives and strategies.
Skills and qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business Administration or Operations Management, combined with a minimum of eight (8) years of management experience in retail;
- Five (5) to eight (8) years of multi-unit retail operations management experience, ideally within general merchandise, durable goods, or convenience retail, in a corporate environment;
- Proven track record of exceptional performance as a District Manager, with consistent achievement of business results;
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with demonstrated strengths in decision-making, organization, and time management; proven ability to coach, develop, motivate, and lead high-performing teams;
- Recognized team builder, with a demonstrated ability to develop and sustain high-performing leadership teams;
- Results-driven, hands-on leader, comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels to drive execution and deliver results;
- Strong business acumen, presence, and energy required to succeed in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment; self-directed and accountable;
- Ability to travel frequently across the province, with approximately 70% of time spent in-store;
- Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken, in order to interact with colleagues across the country.
