Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the incumbent ensures the smooth operation of production machinery by supervising his or her team’s tasks and ensuring that the team efficiently identifies and repairs various problems to maximize production efficiency. He or she is responsible for maintenance aspects throughout the entire plant and actively participates in daily operations as an active member of the management team.
Main responsibilities:
- Supervise the activities of the technical maintenance team (technicians, mechanics, and electromechanics).
- Ensure that the tasks scheduled for the entire team are carried out.
- Ensure that work orders are carried out properly and that maintenance team members adhere to the schedule.
- Manage and monitor the work of subcontractors and ensure that they fulfill their contracts.
- Evaluate and train the technical maintenance team (technicians, mechanics, and electromechanics).
- Conduct internal audits of the work performed by team members.
- Conduct an annual performance evaluation for each team member.
- Participate in the implementation of a training plan aligned with the Knowledge Plan.
- Ensure that all team members are informed of all applicable plant policies and procedures and that they comply with them, particularly with regard to hygiene and occupational health and safety.
- Participate in the hiring of new members of the technical maintenance team (technicians, mechanics, and electromechanics).
- Ensure that new employees are trained on all applicable plant policies and procedures.
- Make the necessary purchases for the technical maintenance team (technicians, mechanics, and electromechanics).
- Participate in the management of the department.
- Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance.
- Participate in project coordination and CAPEX management.
- Propose and develop cost-reduction and performance-improvement projects—including adjustments to the work environment and work schedules, as well as equipment acquisitions—to enhance the company’s effectiveness and efficiency.

Skills and qualifications :
- University degree, DEC, or DEP in Electromechanics/Electrodynamics, or equivalent training, or any other combination of experience relevant to the position
- 7 to 10 years of experience in a similar role within an industrial setting
- Knowledge of automated systems: PLCs (Allen Bradley, and others), HMI, I/O modules (a plus)
- Ability to communicate effectively with all professionals in the department
- Familiarity with SQF, HACCP, lockout/tagout, arc flash, etc.
- Knowledge of maintenance and office software (MS Office)
- Fluency in French and English
