Job description :
A food processing company based in Montreal is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Coordinator to support the development and implementation of our safety culture. Reporting to management, you will play a key role in implementing health and safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and continuously improving safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the implementation and compliance with the company’s OHS policies, procedures, and programs.
- Participate in the identification, assessment, and control of workplace risks.
- Conduct regular inspections of the plant and recommend corrective actions.
- Conduct or coordinate investigations and analyses of accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Ensure follow-up on corrective and preventive actions.
- Facilitate health and safety committees.
- Develop and deliver OHS training to employees and supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage workplace accident records and handle the required administrative follow-up.
- Produce OHS performance indicators and periodic reports.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects related to equipment safety, ergonomics, and best operational practices.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a strong and sustainable culture of prevention.

Skills and qualifications :
- Certificate or high school diploma in occupational health and safety, human resources, industrial hygiene, or a related field.
- At least 4 to 7 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in the manufacturing sector, particularly in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of Quebec occupational health and safety regulations.
- Experience in accident investigation management and risk analysis.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Ability to positively influence production teams.
- Analytical mindset, independence, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Functional bilingualism in French and English
