Job description :
A well-established mining company located in Abitibi is currently seeking a Production Geologist to join its team. Reporting to the Senior Production Geologist, the Production Geologist plays a key role in supporting daily operations, primarily focusing on monitoring development and production areas, interpreting mineralized zones, and ensuring quality control for underground sampling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily geological monitoring, including face mapping, sampling, daily reporting, production area tracking, and grade updates.
- Provide the engineering team with relevant geological information to support development and production planning.
- Update the geological model as new data becomes available.
- Compile, input, and manage drilling data within the geological database systems.
- Develop, implement, and monitor standards and procedures for mapping, sampling, labeling, data compilation, and sample storage.
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth operation of all geological activities.
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies.
Skills and qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in an underground mining environment.
- Proficiency with geological and database software such as Leapfrog, AutoCAD, and Datamine.
