Description of the business :

Our client is a well-established organization recognized for its operational expertise and safe, collaborative work environment. The company values rigor, innovation, and respect, and is looking to welcome an experienced Financial Controller to support the financial performance of its operations and ensure the implementation and reliability of accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Oversee daily and monthly financial activities, including closing entries, reconciliations, and report preparation;
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements in the industrial and mining sectors;
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports for management and internal stakeholders;
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of internal control processes and financial management tools;
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits;
  • Provide analytical support to operational teams for interpreting financial results;
  • Ensure the integrity of financial data in the ERP system (SAP);
  • Contribute to the implementation and optimization of accounting systems;
  • Supervise accounting, payroll, and accounts payable teams;
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal tax and regulatory obligations;
  • Participate in special projects (grants, tax credits, statistics, etc.).

Terms and Benefits :

  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday;
  • Location: Val-d’Or region, QC – Hybrid work mode;
  • Salary based on experience ($110,000 – $145,000);
  • Eligible for an annual bonus;

Skills and qualifications :

Required Technical Skills :

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and full-cycle accounting;
  • Advanced knowledge of an ERP system (SAP is an asset);
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Extensive expertise in establishing control systems and procedures;
  • Good understanding of financial challenges in a production or mining environment.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting;
  • CPA designation required;
  • 5 years of experience in accounting or financial control, ideally in a manufacturing or mining environment;
  • Bilingual in French and English (an asset).
