Job description :
Reporting to senior management, the Director of Operations is responsible for planning, organizing, and optimizing all production, maintenance, quality, health, and safety activities, as well as internal logistics. He or she ensures that performance, productivity, quality, and profitability targets are met while motivating teams to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the plant’s day-to-day operations.
- Develop and implement strategies aimed at the continuous improvement of operational performance.
- Ensure that production, quality, cost, and deadline targets are met.
- Supervise the production, maintenance, quality assurance, and warehousing teams.
- Develop a strong and proactive health and safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and food safety requirements (HACCP, SQF, BRC, or equivalent).
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans.
- Participate in budget planning and ensure control of operating costs.
- Collaborate with the sales, procurement, human resources, and finance departments.
- Manage projects related to optimization, automation, and equipment investments.
- Motivate, mentor, and develop the managers under your supervision.
Skills and qualifications :
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, food engineering, or significant experience
- Additional training in operations management or continuous improvement (a plus).
Experience
- At least 8–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, in a supervisory role.
- Significant experience in the food industry
- Proven track record in operations optimization and change management.
Skills

- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with operational performance metrics.
- Good knowledge of quality and food safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills in French; English is a plus.
