Schedule: Monday to Friday – Full-time

Territory: Eastern Quebec – primarily field-based

Position type: Permanent

Our client is a established company in the distribution of technical solutions and industrial instrumentation. It is seeking a new Business Development Representative who will combine technical expertise with business development skills. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, recommending appropriate solutions, and actively contributing to the growth of the territory.

Your role:

  • Develop sales and strengthen the company’s presence throughout Eastern Quebec.
  • Meet regularly with customers in the field to understand their challenges, identify opportunities and provide hands-on support.
  • Develop new business while growing and retaining existing accounts.
  • Assess customer requirements and recommend the most appropriate instrumentation products and solutions.
  • Identify upcoming projects and turn business opportunities into sales.
  • Present the product portfolio and support customers in selecting and using the right solutions.
  • Work closely with internal teams on quotations, project follow-up and customer requests.
  • Participate in technical presentations or customer training sessions as required.
  • Stay current on products, market trends and evolving customer needs.
  • Plan travel and commercial activities efficiently to maximize territory coverage.

What is offered :

  • Base salary of $80,000–$100,000 depending on experience.
  • Annual bonus based on territory sales objectives, with no cap once targets are exceeded.
  • 4 weeks of vacation.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Experience in B2B sales, ideally within an industrial or technical environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial instrumentation – a requirement for the position.
  • DEC in electrical engineering technology, electrotechnology, automation or a relevant technical background; equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Ability to understand customers’ technical challenges and provide appropriate recommendations.
  • Strong business development, prospecting and account growth skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Autonomy, strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a territory effectively.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle for frequent travel.
  • Being based in the Quebec City or Saguenay area is considered an advantage to facilitate travel and provide local customer support.
  • Fluency in both French and English.
  • Knowledge of industrial instrumentation products or manufacturers is an asset.
