Job description :

The role of the Purchasing Coordinator is to assist the Purchasing Manager in strategic purchasing planning and to maintain clear interdepartmental communication throughout the purchasing process.

Responsibilities:

  • Know and comply at all times with applicable quality and food safety standards, occupational health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining efficient inventory levels and accurate historical records, including physical inventory counts as required.
  • Work closely with suppliers to establish and maintain good customer/supplier relationships and keep supplier files up to date.
  • Collaborate with the Planning and Sales departments regarding raw material requirements and their evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the Quality and R&D departments when creating a raw material item and approving a supplier's compliance with SQF requirements.
  • Create, coordinate and track all orders placed by the Purchasing Department, from the issue of the purchase order to the receipt of the raw material.
  • Work with the Logistics department to coordinate the dispatch and receipt of raw material orders.
  • Collaborate with the Production and Quality departments to ensure raw material compliance.
  • Process receipts to ensure accuracy and compliance with HACCP and SQF requirements.
  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable and suppliers to facilitate the payment/invoicing process.
  • To ensure the smooth running of the company, the employee's duties may be modified as required.
  • Occasionally, office staff are called upon to help with production when there is a shortage of employees, and only for short periods. This solution is temporary and short-term.

Educational background and personal experience:

  • College diploma
  • And/or Years of experience in a similar position: 2
