Job description :
We are looking for a Maintenance Superintendent for a well-established company in the Val-d’Or area.
Under the supervision of the Senior Operations Superintendent, the Maintenance Superintendent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all mechanical, electrical, and mobile maintenance activities related to mining equipment and facilities. He or she ensures the reliability, availability, and optimal performance of assets while guaranteeing the health and safety of personnel and compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
Main responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and supervise preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities for fixed and mobile equipment.
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules in collaboration with mine and operations planning.
- Ensure equipment compliance with legal, technical, and safety requirements.
- Supervise, manage, and mobilize maintenance teams (team leaders, mechanics, electricians, planners, etc.).
- Manage the department's human, material, and financial resources to achieve performance, reliability, and cost objectives.
- Work closely with the production, engineering, health and safety, and procurement departments.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend continuous improvement actions.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of the maintenance budget.
- Ensure the training and skills development of staff under your supervision.
- Promote a culture of safety, rigor, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Actively participate in the implementation and enforcement of company policies and procedures.
Skills and qualifications :
- College or university degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical engineering, or any other related field.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in industrial maintenance, including several years in a supervisory role in a mining environment (underground or open pit).
- In-depth knowledge of mining processes, heavy equipment, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Experience in maintenance planning (software such as SAP, CMMS, Maximo, etc.).
- Motivational leadership, strong planning skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Solid team management and communication skills.
- Mastery of health and safety rules and environmental standards applicable to the mining sector.
