Job description :

Our client, a mining company, is looking for a Mining Engineer to work in the planning of fixed equipment.

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Foreman, the planner works within the maintenance team by actively participating in the planning and scheduling of work to be done in order to use the available human and material resources as efficiently as possible; all in a context where continuous improvement of equipment reliability is a priority. In addition, he/she rigorously ensures compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Description of duties :

  • Participate in the implementation of SAP maintenance.
  • Use the best work planning and mechanical maintenance techniques to ensure maximum equipment reliability and optimal use of resources.
  • Implement a predictive maintenance program.
  • Plan maintenance activities.
  • Develop a preventive maintenance file for each piece of equipment, including all documentation, procedures and interventions to be performed.
  • Follow up on corrective actions following workplace inspections and accident investigations and analyses.
  • Actively collaborate with the Health & Safety department.
  • Issue work orders and follow up with service providers.
  • Provide support to maintenance employees in each of the sectors assigned to the preventive maintenance program.
  • Create detailed equipment records.
  • Participate in the resolution of maintenance-related problems.
  • Participate in process improvement activities, equipment changes and project management.
  • Work closely with all managers and/or supervisors to identify and plan maintenance priorities to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness of operations.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Possess a technical background in an appropriate discipline.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of SAP software (an asset).
