Location: Eastern Townships/Montérégie, on-site

Salary range: $100,000 - $110,000

Job type: Permanent, full-time

The Role

Our client is a well-established, publicly traded manufacturing company in the food industry. The Financial Controller is responsible for the reliability and rigor of the company's financial and accounting operations. They play a key role in budget management, financial statement preparation, strengthening internal controls, and supervising an administrative team, while working closely with leadership on strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations, including invoicing, receivables, general ledger, and the recording of costs, inventory, and products, with the support of the accounting team.
  • Coordinate financial budgeting and forecasting processes and report on variances.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and support the finance department in compiling consolidated financial reports.
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal tax requirements.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring quality control over financial transactions and reports.
  • Supervise an administrative team, including accounting, billing, receivables, and payroll functions.
  • Establish and strengthen accounting processes and policies to reinforce internal controls.
  • Coordinate the activities of external auditors.
  • Actively engage in understanding production operations to support decision-making.

Skills and qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • CPA designation, an asset
  • Knowledge of IFRS standards, an asset
  • A motivated, engaged individual eager to get involved and actively contribute to the team
  • Strong interest in understanding production operations and knowledge of inventory management
  • Excellent organizational skills and rigor in managing financial files
  • Comfortable working with currency conversion
