Job description :

Play a key role in the current growth phase of our client's business by helping to establish a leading accounting function. You will be responsible for the proper maintenance of accounting records and IFRS compliance, while working on a wide variety of projects to build the future of this company.

The Financial Controller will report to the Vice President Finance. He or she will be responsible for management and leadership in the areas of financial reporting, cash management and tax planning.

The candidate will ensure the integrity of accounting transactions and the availability of financial and management information to enable management to make informed business decisions.

Main responsibilities:

  • Determine and produce deliverables in terms of reporting and financial performance indicators for business units and the group.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual closing of the books and direct the reporting processes.
  • Take responsibility for the annual financial cycle process, including the coordination and preparation of annual, quarterly and monthly budgets, cash flow forecasts and projections, and to support partner funding, reporting and approval requirements.
  • Assume management of teams and various financial processes (billing, receivables, payables, payroll, taxes and treasury).
  • Ensure compliance of financial statements with corporate standards, federal, provincial and international laws (IFRS).
  • Draft and update accounting memos in line with the development of new business practices (new sources of revenue, foreign subsidiaries, etc.)
  • Participate in risk management surrounding capital, debt and cash management (receivables, payables, exchange rates, interest).
  • Co-manage the ERP implementation project.
  • Participate in due diligence and other audits.

Skills and qualifications :

  • University degree and recognized accounting designation (CPA)
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience as an accountant in a medium-sized company, including 5 years in an environment with responsibilities similar to those of the position, including managing a team and an accounting and budget planning cycle
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office software
  • Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken
  • Relevant experience in ERP implementation
  • Management and negotiation skills

  • Disciplined and methodical, with a sense of organization, planning and respect for deadlines
  • Problem-solving and change management skills
  • Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
