As an expert in electrical engineering and automation, you will play a key role in the instrumentation and control of our pharmaceutical and laboratory washers. You will be at the heart of innovation, evaluating, conceptualizing, developing, testing and documenting customized solutions for our Customers and in line with their needs, while improving our existing products.
Main responsibilities:
- Programming and Design: Create and program software for SIEMENS and Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and operator interfaces (HMIs), while supporting our customers in the integration of their SCADA systems. You'll also be working with electromechanical interfaces and high-power components such as heaters and pumps.
- Electrical design: Create electrical schematics for control panels that meet customer requirements, while ensuring that our electrical panels comply with electrical and machine safety standards in force in North America and Europe.
- Prototyping and Testing: Conduct rigorous simulations and tests to validate system performance.
- Analysis and Optimization: Assess customer requirements and existing system performance, propose innovative solutions and estimate costs and lead times.
- Problem Solving: Diagnose and solve technical challenges related to our systems.
- Documentation and Reporting: Write operator and maintenance manuals, technical reports and design specifications.
- Technology Watch: Keep abreast of technological advances and market trends to propose cutting-edge solutions.
- Interdisciplinary collaboration: Working closely with engineers from various disciplines, as well as with our Customers, to ensure smooth systems integration. You will liaise with several internal stakeholders, such as purchasing, production and marketing teams.
Skills and qualifications :
- Training: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation or related field.
- Affiliation: Member of the OIQ.
- Experience: 6 to 9 years of relevant experience in the design and implementation of electrical and automation systems.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in programmable logic controllers (PLC) and industrial programming languages (Allen Bradley and Siemens: assets). Knowledge of CAD software and simulation tools (ePlan and AutoCAD: assets). Knowledge of electrical standards and safety regulations (UL, CSA, CE) would be an asset.
- Interpersonal skills: Ability to work as part of a team to solve complex problems. Communicate effectively and participate in multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to communicate with customers.
- Rigor: Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Languages: Excellent command of French and functional command of English.
