Job description :

In this capacity and in compliance with the Accounting Control Guide which serves as his/her reference, the Accounting Controller helps to define a control programme, implements it, identifies accounting anomalies, orders and steers action plans where necessary, and centralises and escalates accounting alerts.

Main activities:

  • Daily and monthly controls
  • Check the accounting balance for consistency and variations and report on any anomalies identified
  • Check and correct the declarative file (ESTD) before monthly distribution
  • Check the other accounting databases (extractions from cash reconciliation and other tools)
  • Balance the accounts
  • Check the evidencing of accounts
  • Organise and participate in the pending cash items monthly meetings for the entities and his/her perimeter and prepare/check the tables presented at these meetings
  • Participate in the monthly Group Committee meeting of the Financial Affairs Department
  • Quarterly closing financial statements
  • Check the documents substantiating the balance prepared by 1st level

Accounting Controllers:

  • Verify the exhaustiveness of the balances substantiated
  • Check the validity and pertinence of data and comments
  • Check the quality and reliability of the audit trail

Compile the account closing file sent to the statutory auditors:

  • Be responsible for organising meetings with the statutory Auditors
  • Balance the accounts
  • Prepare, control and submit the supporting documents
  • Respond to surveys conducted by external auditors

Formalise the results of 2nd level accounting controls:

  • Prepare the key accounting control files sent to Permanent Controls
  • Define and validate the audit trails of the accounting control files
  • Participate in the quarterly Provisions Committee meetings for his/her entity and perimeter
  • Other related duties
