Job description :

Our customer, a forklift distributor, is looking for a Service Manager for the Ottawa area.

The selected candidate, under the supervision of the Regional Director, will be responsible for managing the service department of the Ottawa Branch.

He will have to coordinate the work done by road and garage technicians for all internal and external customers, in order to obtain the best possible performance.  That will be achieve through work control, planning and organization of the service under his responsibility, as well as the supervision and coaching of the technicians.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Monitor, coordinate and schedule forklift repair work in the shop and field.
  • Allocate workload and prioritize daily emergencies.
  • Listen, motivate and manage employees.
  • Periodically assess staff.
  • Establish performance standards (strategic points).
  • Responsible for hiring and firing, salary increases and vacation approval for the department.
  • Plans training for service technicians.
  • Visit the service technicians at the customers.
  • Ensures all staff members conduct themselves ethically and professionally.
  • Satisfies and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Staff assessment.
  • Responsible for the building - repairs, maintenance, security, etc.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position in service management in the field of mechanics.
  • Good time management and projects.
  • Experience in personnel supervision.
  • To be a leader, passionate about what he does and always looking for improvement.
