Job description :
Our client, a North American company in the food sector located near Victoriaville is looking for a Site Manager. Reporting directly to the Vice President Corporate Manufacturing, the Site Manager's primary responsibility is to achieve the plant's production objectives in the most efficient manner by prioritizing quality management, food safety, OHS and cost control through the direct support and guidance of the local management team, which includes production, engineering and maintenance, supply chain, human resources and finance.
- Participates in various corporate meetings aimed at developing the cooperative;
- Communicates corporate strategic orientations to the local management committee and advises members on their implementation;
- Supports and advises the local management team in achieving their respective objectives;
- Plans and participates in the implementation of programs aimed at the continuous improvement of operations, the growth of the production site through capital projects and the integration of new technologies;
- Ensures cost control and profitability by managing expense budgets;
- Acts as site manager and ensures accountability for food safety, quality and health & safety initiatives;
- Participates in the development and maintenance of the organizational culture and values;
- Supports activities to reduce costs and eliminate or recycle waste;
- Supports activities promoting employee participation and continuous improvement;
- Assesses and assists in the development of its managers;
- Participates in collective agreement negotiations and renewals;
- Maintains diverse communications with all employees;
- Reviews and supports all plant evaluation plans by sector;
- Participates in and supports the plant's Capex investment plan;
- Supports and advises on commercial and service agreements for his plant;
- Maintains plant 3-year plan with other managers;
- When necessary, travels to meet other leaders from other sites across the U.S. (1 to 2 trips per year).
Skills and qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or operations management or related degree.
- Ten (10) years of relevant experience in operations management;
- Experience in implementing operational policies, procedures, tools and indicators;
- Experience in strategic planning, participating in management committees and coaching a multidisciplinary team;
- Experience in defining, planning and monitoring budgets and operational and financial performance indicators;
- Solid experience in personnel management;
- Ability to make decisions with a minimum of information, and to devise simple, preventive solutions to problems;
- Strong capacity for analysis, synthesis and judgment.
