Job description :

Position summary:

Under the supervision of the Customer Experience Manager, the Estimator provides cost estimates for projects in the residential, light commercial and agricultural markets. Using blueprint reading and his/her own industry experience, the Estimator prepares quantity surveys and estimate documents for presentation to customers.

Main responsibilities:

  • Receives requests for estimates and enters them in the request follow-up report.
  • Ensures conformity of the customer's request and, if necessary, makes recommendations in collaboration with employees from other departments.
  • Estimates the material required to complete each construction project, based on the customer's specifications and needs.
  • Evaluates the profitability of project-related products and services, actual costs versus bids throughout project development, while maintaining acceptable profit margins.
  • Prepares all necessary documents at regular intervals to ensure that materials and support for project completion are available.
  • Follows up on projects and takes the necessary action to obtain orders.
  • Provides technical assistance and responds to customer requests concerning products, maintenance and warranty programs.
  • Supports the sales force in resolving issues or answering technical queries concerning our products or their applications.

Skills and qualifications :

  • College diploma in architectural technology or related field
  • Candidates must have a minimum of two (2) years or more experience at this level.
  • Experience with architectural panels, insulated or metal panels will be considered an asset
  • Blueprint reading is an asset
  • Bilingual (English, French) (an asset)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Auto CAD
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Streamlines processes to improve efficiency
  • Demonstrates initiative
  • Experience in project management
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-functional team
