Job description:

Position Summary: Support and reinforce the decisions and actions of the sales team (Quebec & Atlantic provinces) by providing strategic recommendations based on categories reviews, SWOT analysis, promotional analysis, price positioning analysis, etc. This position also required to work with other internal departments and the BI National team on developing reports, presentations, studies, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, investigate and communicate significant sales trends and recommendations (SWOT) based on category management
  • Compare account-level trends with market-level trends
  • Internally, interact with cross-functional Account teams, Sales Managers, Marketing Managers, Finance and Operation; externally, interact with appropriate Retailer members
  • Create fact and recommendation based sales presentations using PowerPoint
  • Complete categories reviews based on custom analysis with spreadsheet and database tools
  • Accurately report on promotional performance to measure the profitability of brand/product performance by customer/region/territory and determine ROI
  • Pricing analysis and recommendation to optimize positioning
  • Work directly with retail teams in developing sales presentations
  • Act as a champion to drive category management best practices into the sales organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and qualifications:

Education / Experience / Technical / Specialized Skills

Education:

  • University Degree in Sales, Business / Mathematics or Statistics

Experience:

  • 5 years in a category management role

Technical / Specialized skills:

  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptionally strong analytical performance
  • Strong familiarity with Cognos, Nielsen, Dunnhumby or any other database
  • Strong leadership skills: ability to influence customers & ability to lead and contribute in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – French and English
  • Must be comfortable presenting ideas and concepts to groups of varying seniority and levels within an organization
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork
  • Strong planning/organizing skills: capable of managing major projects simultaneously, work well under pressure
